it shouldn't. version numbers on the .so's should keep things separate.
why not upgrade though - 4.1 was painful. (4.2 was redhat's best
relase imnsho. 6.0's a good step to beating it, but i'm worried the
graphical install thing will hose 6.1's chances of following on).
