Strange problem.

I upgraded X yesterday to 3.3.5 with the RPMS in RH5.2 updates dir on
redhat.com. Now ls --color doesn't show any colours anymore. it only
shows the normal colour and bold.... what did i break?

interestingly if i su to root and start an xterm ls --color works
fine. I've tried gettign rid of my .Xdefaults.. but that doesn't fix
it.

also, nxterm has lost it's nice scrollbar. in fact nxterm is the
exact same as xterm now... is is supposed to be like that in 3.3.5?

Finally: That little camera on Sony Vaio picturebooks, the 'Motion
Eye'. Is it supported by linux? I've scoured the net, but can't find
anything. Except the Sony DCF-1 or something (gphoto.org), but it
appears to connect via a serial link, so i doubt it'd work as the
Vaio can capture video. Does anybody know /anything/ about it? ie is
it a Sony design, or someone else's? anything...

regards,
