[ILUG] lin party

Hmm. One of the things we discussed on friday was the possibility of an
ILUG party somewhere/how. Any ideas ? Anyone offering a large house for
such a thing ? Should machines be present ?

The amiga parties that used to be held in the Royal Dublin seven or eight
years ago rocked. Consisted of people talking tech, drinking, wandering
around looking at machines people brought, and swapping software (mainly PD
(public domain), showing off new software, new hardware, home made
hardware, hacks, and of graphical demos; it was fun.

Could something on this scale be done again ? These events weren't just a
small thing, there were hundreds of people there; not something you could
hold in someones house (as fun as Kevin's installfest was).

Do as many people own Linux machines as used to own Amigas, in their
heyday ? Do as many people care ? I know that Linux people are in general
less sociable than Amiga owners (being a more narrow spectrum of
people)...but would it matter ?
