Well if we couldn't get Linus or Alan then we could always
invite Eric the cat as one of the guest speakers as all
ILUGers are so familiar with him now.
That could really capture the imagination of the media
As for this becoming a conference.. I don't think that is a problem.
It might have some of the features of a conference but if everybody is there
to have
fun rather than to be seen to be having fun ( big difference ) then it would
be very
successful. Could be the start of a whole new kind of computing event.
Well it would be except MAC users in the states used to do this kind of
thing years
ago. I would hope that the same pioneering spirit ( without the arrogance
perhaps )
exists in the linux community at the moment.
I suppose that we should wait a while though. What with LAID coming up soon
and all that...
