It's not that they'd tell you it's impossible, rather that *they* won't
support it, they have call-centers staffed with people who took two-week
courses in trouble-shooting Win9x / IE internet problems (ie what they ship
on their CD's). You *can* use something else, but if it doesn't have a
start-button or an IE4 / IE5 look & feel to it then they're lost !!

The usual story, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys ... (same as it is in any
tech-support / call-centre environment)
