A full System Administration course is a pretty big
undertaking. A lot of organisations out there are in
the process of trying to develop cheap Linux
certification courses and our efforts might be better
spent helping them than starting from scratch with our
own course. (Check out http://www.lpi.org/ and
http://www.linuxcertification.org/ for more info).

What might be interesting to do is to actually create an
ECDL course focussing on Linux. I've got a fair bit of
information here on the course modules needed for the
ECDL exams. I've also got some windows-based self study
courses on CD-Rom. We could model a Linux version on
these but change all the actual examples from windows to
linux.

Of course we'd have to try to find somewhere that would
examine it on Linux after all that, maybe someone from
Ilug could actually get certified as an ECDL trainer or
something.

I reckon it'd be a cool intro to Linux for newbies.

Kathryn.
