the XShape extension is an optional part of an XServer (optional in that the
writers of the Xserver can put it in or not), that handles non rectulangular
windows, like for instance a sheep shaped window.

xdpyinfo will show the extensions, it should be called SHAPE in this listing.
I am surprised that the DockApp couldnt find it, was this as the compile stage
or when running the actual application. If it was at the compile stage maybe
you are missing a header file ?. If it was at the run stage and the SHAPE
extension is listed in xpdyinfo then theres possibly a bug in DockApp. If its
at the run stage and there is no SHAPE in xdpyinfo then thats odd as I though
XFree86 always had the shape extension compiled into it.
