Not, DDS3 tapes shouldn't be used in a DDS2 drive - DDS has backward compatibility,
but not forward :-) I'm actually surprised that you can write to them at all.
There is something about DDS drives switching themselves into read-only mode when
they see a "wrong" tape. Maybe that's when a DDS3 drive sees a DDS2 tape ? Have a
look at HP's site - I'm sure that's where I read it, but I'm also sure it'll
take you a while to find :-)
