It helps if the machines are of identical type, but one can use the plug
& pray aspect of windows to configure different bits & pieces provided
that the relevant drivers windows install set are immediatly avaliable
to the system (ie on hard disk & not network) When one combined this
with a runonce registry key things can get relativly reliably automated.
The down side is that you have to be nearby as something "can" go wrong
about once every so often.
must test cloning linux boxen just to see how hardware variances will
act up, though I'd imagine that kernal modules would work in Linux's
favour here. Not sure about how to dynamically check/change an
XF86Config though.
