Hi,
This isn't strictly a Linux question, but someone here may have
encountered the problem before so I'll ask...
I've set up an old PC as a Linux dial-on-demand gateway for a small
LAN of Win95 machines. I've used pppd and chat and everything works
fine, except that I've noticed that if a Win95 user closes down their
Netscape browser when the dial-up link is down it causes the gateway
to dial out. Does anyone know exactly what/why the browser is
transmitting? Is there any way to stop it doing that? Is there any
way to identify these packets at the gateway & prevent them causing a
dial out?
Thanks,
Barry Redmond
