As long as you put in the CD-Rom you should be able to boot from it. If not
check your BIOS boot sequence and set it to CD-Rom first. You don't need the
floppy drive. Next time though you might wanna make a recovery diskette.
There again you can also take the CD to another machine and create one
there. Although if you get really stuck, you do work in Symantec you could
always go to another machine stick in your laptop harddrive and Ghost
something over it to start again from scratch . . . oh yeah, don't try and
autodetect nipple mice.

Subject: [ILUG] Help!
Hi,
I've tried installing RedHats Linux (6.0) on my laptop.
I partitioned the
HD with the swap and the native (getting rid of the dos
partition). The install
failed when it hung trying to detect my mouse (nipple type
in centre of keys).
So, now when I try booting it sayes "No OS found" !!!! I've
tried using a Dos
Boot Disk, but FDISK sayes it can find no fixed partitions.
SO...... I'm stuck!
BTW, installing a different version of Linux is out 'coz I
have a swappable
floppy and CDROM, so I can't install from the CDROM or HD
('coz I can't see the
HD to copy the files over!!!!!) Doh!
Any help appreciated!
Please reply to my e-mail address (as well as the list) 'coz
I haven't
subscribed
Cheers
Steve
