I nipped into Maplins & got some last week. They have 2ml for ~£3.00, and
10ml for £4.50. Being me, and thinking I'll need more eventually, got the
10ml thing - the 2ml syringe is prolly enough for a pair of CPUs, though I
thought it was expensive, and not much of it, for your £4.50.
There was plenty. Stuff got everywhere. Forget scalibility - the main
problem with two CPU's get getting thermal paste all over your fingers and
cabling, because the poxy tight CPU fan on CPU0 makes you slip and plonk
your hands on CPU1, which you have pre-emptively covered in paste.
Oh, and another one: if, when putting on paste think "Sure, I've got loads
of it. May as well put a bit more on for luck" - don't. What happens is
that when you force the heaksink down, the stuff squirts out in all
directions, and then you have to panic when you see your second motherboard
in as many weeks covered in white sticky goo. I thought I'd crossed the
streams again.
So I'm told, anyway.
