Firstly Id recomend that you have a look ath the Linux Printing Howto, that will tell you all you need to know about setting up printers, and has links to othere good sources of info.

Sooner or later youll end up looking at ghostscript (it converts postscript into a 'language' that youre printer will understand), and from a quick look at the page there are a lot of Cannon BJC printers supported, though not the one you mention. However odnt worry too much about this as I installed an Epson Stylus 660 at the weekend and it works fine using ghostscript, though the docs dont mention it.

Also it may be very esy to install the printer depending on the distribution. In SusE for example (I discoverd after doing it the hard way!) that you go into YaST (the SuSE setup tool), select 'add new hardware', specify the printer port, and driver (bjc??? in youre case probably), and hey presto it works! Actually the done that way it was quicker and easier to install the printer under SuSE than Win95, and I didnt have to reboot SuSE :)

hth
