Assuming you have 16-64 MB of RAM:

Swap 64 MB
/ 100 MB
/usr 750 MB
/home 380 MB + whatever is left

This assumes that most of the data on your drive will be software (/usr),
not documents (/home). You can adjust that according to your actual use.
(I wouldn't go below 350 for /usr though).
Also, if you do any programming, you may want to devote 50 - 100 MB to
/usr/src for kernal and application source code.

Your milage may vary.
