Right now my NT server is just working in a workgroup as my current system is mainly NOVELL and SCO Unix. But do you mean if I have a domain 'security = domain, password server = *' is all I need to do from linux side? are all passwords stored in NT server? 0100,0100,0100On 19 Dec 00, at 18:41, Kenn Humborg wrote: From: 0000,0000,8000"Kenn Humborg" <Symbol Times New RomanTo: 0000,0000,8000<, <, <Symbol Times New RomanSubject: 0000,0000,8000RE: [ILUG] Why NT can't explore samba?Symbol Times New RomanDate sent: 0000,0000,8000Tue, 19 Dec 2000 18:41:29 -0000Symbol 7F00,0000,0000Times New Roman> > It works with a windows95 client. but when I click the icon of > the linux > > box in network neighborhood from a NT server, it pops up a windows > > that says wrong password or unknown username. Do you have an NT domain? If so, add samba to the domain and use 'security = domain, password server = *' and you're done. You'll need to create accounts on the samba box with the same _names_ as the NT accounts. There are scripts to do this. (Maybe there's a samba option that allows for a file to specify the mapping from NT<<->Linux accounts. Check the docs.)
