Right now my NT server is just working in a workgroup as my current
system is mainly NOVELL and SCO Unix. But do you mean if I have a
domain 'security = domain, password server = *' is all I need to do
from linux side? are all passwords stored in NT server?

Do you have an NT domain? If so, add samba to the domain
and use 'security = domain, password server = *' and you're
done.
You'll need to create accounts on the samba box with the same
_names_ as the NT accounts. There are scripts to do this.
(Maybe there's a samba option that allows for a file to
specify the mapping from NT<<->Linux accounts. Check the
docs.)
Anyway, once samba is part of the domain, all the password
issues just disappear. Completely. And connecting to a
samba share gets quicker. Much quicker.
