 :: Projects :: Gnome Localisation

The Irish Gnome Translation team are looking for volunteers.
We think that an Irish translation of Gnome will be useful for speakers and learners of Irish around the world and will make GNU/Linux more attractive for use in schools and government offices in Ireland.

At present we have around 17% of the official Gnome desktop suite translated, including several pieces that are fully translated. Overall, we have 9% of Gnome-based software translated. The status page for the Irish team is: http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gtp/status/gnome-2.4/ga/index.html

Whatever your level of Irish, you can get involved. As a group we will discuss methods of translation, preferred terminology, funding and other issues.

If you are interested, please contact Paul Duffy (paul at compsoc dot nuigalway dot ie) or David O'Callaghan (david dot ocallaghan at cs dot tcd dot ie), or join us in #l10n on irc.linux.ie
