We think that an Irish translation of Gnome will be useful for speakers and learners of Irish around the world and will make GNU/Linux more attractive for use in schools and government offices in Ireland. At present we have around 17% of the official Gnome desktop suite translated, including several pieces that are fully translated. Overall, we have 9% of Gnome-based software translated. As a group we will discuss methods of translation, preferred terminology, funding and other issues.
